Changing our name
not what we do

We’ve changed our name to Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research (from Leukaemia Research) – but we are not changing what we do. We’ve always funded life-saving research into leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma. But we need to be sure everyone knows we are here for people touched by blood cancers.

Research showed that many lymphoma and other blood cancer patients did not know that we fund research into these diseases.

Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research is the only UK charity solely dedicated to research into all blood cancers, including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.

Now in our 50th year, our charity has come a long way in driving ground breaking research into better treatments and cures for people with leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma and other blood cancers.

  • We are leading in the field of blood cancer research
  • We are a unique team of supporters, volunteer fundraisers, businesses, patients and researchers
  • We raise funds entirely through voluntary support
  • We are determined to beat blood cancers

Why we need you

More young people under the age
of 40 die from blood cancer than
any other cancer. The loss of such
a young life is devastating for those
left behind.
We receive no government funding
and rely entirely on the British
public to support our research so
more families can be spared the
devastation of losing a loved one.

Tim Reeve

“Our son, Tim (pictured above), was
diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic
leukaemia at the age of 20, just as
his adult life was beginning, and
died three years later. There is so
much to do to make sure that more
young people with a blood cancer
survive and have the chance to
make their dreams come true.”

John Reeve, volunteer fundraiser

Children with leukaemia and lymphoma

Childhood leukaemia is the most
common form of cancer in children.
When Leukaemia & Lymphoma
Research began 50 years ago a
child’s chance of surviving leukaemia
was virtually nil. Now thanks to
our research nine out of ten children
survive the most common form
of this blood cancer.
Lymphoma is the third most
common cancer in children
and teenagers.
But treatments are punishing.
And there is still a small
group of children who do not
respond well to treatment.
We are determined to ensure
all children survive leukaemia
and lymphoma.

Maisie Freed

“You can never give enough
back when your child has been
ill and is now well. It has been
very emotional for our family
to raise money for Leukaemia
& Lymphoma Research.”

Sharon Freed, mother of Maisie
(15, pictured left) who is in
remission from lymphoma

The equation is simple, the more money we raise equals more lives saved.

Closer to a cure thanks to you!

All money raised goes to Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research
